Hey everyone!
I know, it’s been a while. I’m still trying to get into the routine of posting more than once a month. The goal is once a week. But, life being what it is, sometimes things don’t go as planned.
Next Tuesday (June 19th) is my first ever podcast interview. And they want me there for the full hour of the broadcast. Like most of the events that’ve happened since I started this journey, I’m scared out of my mind.
What if no one watches? What if a thousand do? Will this help my book sales? What if people who have read or are considering reading “Daughter of Hauk” have this idea in their head of what I’m like and I don’t meet that expectation? Will they still buy my book?
Fear is a part of life. In all honesty, I think it’s a vital part of being human and living a full life. We have to not only experience it in various forms but conquer it. If I was truly afraid of this type of scrutiny, I shouldn’t have tried to get published in the first place. I ASKED for this. There’s thousands of people out there who would trade places with me in a heartbeat.
It’s been a steep learning curve since March 14th when the ebook released. And I’ve learned a lot. Tuesday marks the first time I’ll be facing more than 20 people directly and presenting myself as a public person. I’m sure I’ll make a mistake or two from nerves. But sometimes that endears us to potential fans, proves that we’re just as human as they are.
For those interested in tuning in, I’ll have some additional information on Thursday night that I’ll try to remember and post on Friday morning.
If you’re Wiccan, please talk to your Goddess about keeping me sane. If you’re not, well, any well wishes to the diety of your choice would be welcome.
