Did anyone catch the moment on Wednesday last week? Where the stars aligned, the calendar page turned, and school began again here? Where for a few brief moments I reveled in the quiet. Then, I cranked the stereo and did some editing work! The house is mine again, and I’m loving it.
Don’t get me wrong. I love my family. I love spending time with them. But there’s something to be said in knowing you can spend the whole day writing, proofreading, or editing and no one’s on the other side of the door wondering when lunch gets made.
I’ve got some great news to share with everyone! No, ‘Son of Corse’ isn’t done yet. I’m working on it!
Today, at 9 am PDT/12 pm EDT, one of my fave authors and my writing ‘big brother’, Nick Pollotta is going to be interviewed on blog talk radio. Nick’s one of the few writers that’ll get me laughing out loud. Not to mention that some of the first books by him stayed in my head for 20 years between when they were absconded with and got re-released. He’s hilarious, and an awesome individual. Right after Nick’s done making me laugh until I cry, I’ll be on Twitter (@DaughterHauk) doing a live TwitterChat with Melissa Miller of Solstice Publishing (@SolsticePublish) about ‘Daughter of Hauk’. We plan to start the chat at 10 am PDT/1 pm EDT. Head on over to Twitter, make sure you’re following us, and feel free to join the chat. We should be going at it for 30 minutes to an hour, so you can make some coffee and relax while it’s going on.
Ok, here’s the biggie! And I’m telling all of you before I make the announcement on FB! To celebrate the 6 month anniversary of ‘Daughter of Hauk’ being released as an ebook, I’m going to do a contest on FB starting on Friday the 14th. It’ll run for six days. Right now, I’m sitting at 43 ‘likes’ on my page. Each time I get to 100 likes (100, 200, 300, etc), I’ll draw a name at random and that person will get a free pdf copy of the book. If I reach 500 likes before the end of the contest on the 20th, I’ll give away a signed paperback!
Yes, anyone who has hit the like button prior to Friday is eligible. Here’s the link: http://www.facebook.com/pages/KateMarie-Collins/217255151699492?ref=hl
Like it, share it, and good luck!
Well, it’s time for me to get a few more things together before I start driving the kids to school. Best get going on that!
